Born in Oviedo (Asturias) many, many moons ago. I remember having a camera at hand in my teens thanks to my father being an enthusiastic photo aficionado. At that time it was mostly black and white.

After finishing a master in mining engineering at the School of Mines, Oviedo University, I got the opportunity to do some research work at the Norwegian Institute of Technology, Throndheim. The intention being to return to Oviedo to write a PhD thesis at the School of Mines. During my stay in Thronheim I learned to love the country and the norwegian way of living. Therefor, I decided to stay in Norway. I got the PhD degree in Trondheim, a demanding and fulfilling job and a family.

Family life, kids, job, job, job … kept me away from photography, with the exception of the traditional family snapshots.

Life is dynamic and in 2016 I got the chance to retake my hobby after nearly 40 years in hybernation. I am based in the best of the Norwegian Southern Coast, Mandal. Here I have almost all the elements I could wish for: the coast line, the moving waters and the light. But I mis the Asturian coast with its peculiar geology exposed to the hard incoming weather from the Bay of Biscay. There I can experience the real power of the sea. It is a endless source of inspiration. Every now and then I travel to Asturias and stay over there for a few weeks.

I am trying woodland photography but it is very challenging to find order in the chaos of the woodlands. I have to work on the subject.

The expectacular nature on display in Northen Norway wil be a target in the years to come.

There is an ever increasing number of people that seems to have been biten by the photography bacillus, you meet them everywhere. The number apear to be direct proportional to the rarety and expectacularity of the place. Yes, nature is there for all of us to enjoy, but it is also our responsability to care about her. Imho, the act of capturing images should be a consecuence of a thoroug exploration and interpretation of the place. Thus the images will be our own. Buying an “App” or a map from a so called professional photographer containing the exact geocoordinates of the place where he/she took iconic photos is a total misconception of creativity. I think we all should follow the ideas expresed on “Nature first

I hope you enjoy the images on this page as much as I enjoy making them. Do not hesitate to get in touch should you find any image of you particular interest. I am sure we will work out a way for you to buy a print in archive quality paper or the media of your taste.

Last but not least, you will not be able to follow me on Instagram, Twiter, Facebook and the like. I am proud of not having an account on those places. However, I am a registered member of the local “Mandal fotoklubb“. You may visit our web page.
